Last few days of 2018
A few pictures of my last few days in Europe. First: Vienna, featuring various Hapsburg Empire palaces - that pretty much sums up Vienna, a beautiful city living in the past:

Next, Prague: another beautiful city that definitely deserves the hype and yet I still could NOT get over how touristy it was! I guess the winter holidays are not the best time to visit. For a taste of just how crowded the Old Town was, see the last photo, which I took in front of the famous astrological clock (the oldest in the world) (see 3rd photo) mere minutes before the turn of the hour, at which time there is a ~20 second show whereby a small skeleton figure (representing death) “rings” the bell and then a rooster figure cock-a-doodle-doos. Pretty underwhelming to be honest and yet there must have been 2000 people waiting in the square to watch. Unreal. Anyway, I still enjoyed Prague and besides playing tourist with the 1000s of other tourists, we also squeezed in a Czech hockey game (Prague vs unknown other Czech town), which was a lot of fun and had much cheaper beer than arenas in Canada, and met up with a Czech friend whom I met last year in Dublin.

Stay tuned for the first chapter of my new book, entitled “Shannon and Andre’s Adventures in India”! 😯
